RMIT University, Industrial Design (Year 3) This project demonstrates the application of advanced freeform surfacing techniques to model a pair of sunglasses in Fusion 360. Utilizing 1:1 scaled reference images, I achieved precise proportions, refined material thicknesses, and functional component details, including working hinges, to faithfully capture the design’s sleek, modern aesthetic. The project required careful planning to ensure smooth transitions across complex surfaces, strengthening my proficiency with intricate digital forms. The branding for this model was crafted through analogue ideation, including hand-drawn sketches refined with Proceate on the iPad. These were then digitized in Adobe Illustrator and applied to the CAD model, establishing cohesive, professionally integrated branding that aligns with the sunglasses’ design language. This assignment elevated my capabilities in freeform modeling and branding integration, resulting in a polished, industry-ready presentation that exemplifies both technical skill and creative execution.
